Jessica Chastain

JessicaJessica Michelle Chastain (born March 24, 1977) is an American actor and producer. Her most famous work is her role in films with female-centric themes. She has won numerous awards, including an Academy Award, and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine listed her as one of the top 100 influential people around the globe in 2012. Chastain began acting as a child. In 1998 she made her debut on stage as Shakespeare's Juliet. She was a student at the Juilliard School and was then signed to a contract for talent-holding with John Wells, a television producer. She was frequently a guest on various television shows, and was a part of several stage productions. Chastain made her debut film in Jolene (2008) at the age of 31. She went on to release six films in the year of 2011 which included The Tree of Life (2011) and Take Shelter (2011). As a character in the films, she played an aspirant socialite and CIA analyst, she received Academy Award nominations in The Help (2011) and Zero Dark Thirty (2012). The science-fiction films Interstellar (2014) & The Martian (2015) were commercially more successful than the horror film It Chapter Two (2019). Chastain was not only praised for her portrayal of strong-willed women which was evident in the dramas Most Violent Years (2014), Miss Sloane (2016) and Molly's Game (2017). She was also a part of the television miniseries Scenes from a Marriage (1921). She later played Tammy Faye Bakker in the biopic The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021) which won her the Academy Award for Best Actress and Tammy Wynette in the miniseries George & Tammy (2022). Chastain created Freckle Films to promote diversity in film production. She is also an investor in Angel City FC. She has a strong voice on race and gender equality. Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo is her husband.
