Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the daughter of Peter Silk, an academic as well as Ilkay Silk, a multi-talented actress director, producer, playwright, educator, and director of drama of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna Silk's dad is from Britain, as is her mother was an Turkish Cypriot English expat. Her mother was always watching her working in rehearsals for plays.
