Despacito was a track from the year 2017 released by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. It was the single that became the most streamed and downloaded song in the world within six months. It was a combination of reggaeton and pop music that attracted attention to Latin Music but as well reggaeton. Billboard's Top 100 in 2015 had two tracks that were mostly in the Spanish language, while in 2016 there were four. At the height of Despacito's popularity the track was one of 19 that mainly Spanish have made it into the Top 100. The year 2020 will see there will be 41 songs in this category. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish-language version in 2017. In the year following, famous artists started working with reggaeton acts. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny to produce MIA (2018) as well as Madonna worked on Medellin along with Maluma (2019). In the year 2020, a handful of reggaeton artists were expressing displeasure at their genre's shift towards the mainstream. However, a younger generation, led by Rauw Alejandro, aimed to ensure that reggaeton was evolving. Rauw Alejandro incorporated elements of other genres and electronic music.
